Dracaena & Cordyline

Two very similar looking families of plants characterised by a thick central meristem/trunk surrounded by leaves radiating outwards. The two groups come with two very different origins. Cordyline mostly come from the Asia-Pacific region whereas Dracaena hail mainly from Africa and encompass a wider range of species than seen below. Dracaena are some of the easiest plants to care for in the home and make for an ideal first plant.
